Eclipse and Corn Shuckers win in impressive fashion

5 June 2017

What a fantastic day of base ball! The weather turned out to be perfect! The Wahoo’s couldn’t seem to get out of their own way in the 1st match and we’re beat quite soundly by the formidable Eclipse Base Ball Club. Thinking things had to look up in the second match proved to be wishful thinking. The Corn Shuckers showed the Wahoo’s that they were no longer a freshman club! They proved that they were a team to be reckoned with. Routinely striking the ball over the outfield fence and turning double plays as if it were of the most common occurrences. They too beat the Wahoo’s in fine fashion. Congratulations to both Victorious clubs! You played some fine base ball.

Double Header this Sunday!

2 June 2017

This Sundays base ball game is now a double header! Due to a scheduling error on the part of the Wahoos we have the extrodinary pleasure of hosting the Northville Eclipse at 1pm. Followed directly by a match against the Corn Shuckers from Canton!
Again please take not of the new start time of 1pm

Change of Venue for Sunday the 4th

31 May 2017

Spring is upon us! Sunday the fourth is opening day for the Royal Oak Sand Lot League. Every field at Starr Jaycee Park will be in use all day Sunday. We would hate to crowd our future Wahoos by playing on our regular field. So for this Sunday only we will play at our practice field in Ferndale. Warm ups will start at 1PM. Game time is 2PM.

Much anticipated but not to be…

30 May 2017

The much anticipated match against our good friends the Chelsea Monitors on the 21st of May was canceled.  For two days both Captains watched the radar and prayed the forecast would be false.   In the end the the prediction of thunderstorms at game time and the poor field conditions forced the the hand of both men to agree to cancel the match.

HOME OPENER AT STARR JAYCEE PARK

30 May 2017

The field was terribly wet from storms earlier in the week,  forcing the field of play to be moved to the high side of the field.  Both  the Early Risers Baseball Club and the Wahoos put up a strong offensive and defensive performance.  The 8th and 9th innings proving  the difference makers for the Early Risers who capitalized on a number of errors by the home club to seize the victory!  Congratulations to the Early Riser!  They played a great game and we enjoyed hosting them!
