Wahoo’s versus Chelsea Monitors May 4, 2014

(Monitor perspective) Good time today as the Monitors kicked off their 4th season. Great to be playing ball again after that merciless winter, especially against our good friends, the Wahoo BBC of Royal Oak. Pretty low-scoring contest, in soggy and very windy conditions. Plenty of fine defensive plays made by both clubs. The Monitors held a 3-1 advantage for most of the match, but 3 in the seventh and 4 in the eighth by the host club proved decisive. A nice Monitor rally in the bottom of the ninth netted 3 tallies against Wahoo relief pitcher Sawdust/TuefelHunden/PhilCoke made it interesting, but Royal Oak walked away 8-6 victors today. Fine match all, and thanks to the loyal cranks who stayed to watch on a deceptively chilly afternoon!

(Wahoo perspective)  A hard fought victory against our good friends from Chelsea was a fitting way to say goodbye to our old battle flag and introduce the new. It was our privilege to have used it for so many years. May it bring our former Captain, Tim Gorman many fond memory’s hanging over his mantle.
